Lourdes Rodriguez, MA, ITFS

In 1981, Lourdes graduated from Bayamon Central University in Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Since that time, she has dedicated herself to continuing her education in the areas of how young children learn, the road to reading, nutrition for young children, language development in infants, and understanding pediatric
behavior and social-emotional development.

Throughout her career, Lourdes has been an esteemed member of many organizations dedicated to community service, including The North Carolina Head Start Program, Children’s Developmental Services Agency, and North Carolina State University 4-H Youth Development.

Lourdes has held her North Carolina Infant-Toddler Family Specialist certification since 2010. With 34 years of experience working with children and families, Lourdes is an invaluable member of any child’s care team. Caregiver participation and education are very important to
Lourdes, as she has found that this is the most successful model in securing optimal therapy outcomes. She is able to tailor her therapy  sessions based on the needs of a child by building a connection with the child at a pace that is comfortable; allowing each child to light the path to success while she supports alongside.

Lourdes’ mission is to provide an environment of love, respect and success for all families. Lourdes has extensive experience working with children with behavior, speech, developmental, as well as gross, fine motor and cognitive delays. In addition, she frequently works with children who have been diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, and hearing and visual impediments. She enjoys working with medically fragile or premature children as well.

If you are looking for a seasoned therapist who loves working with children and families, is passionate about building strong communities, and is exceptionally gifted in her therapy techniques and approach, Lourdes would love the opportunity to work with you and your family.
