Caroline McLaughlin, PT

Caroline has extensive training and 30 years of practical experience working with children and their families in their homes and with teachers and caregivers in preschools and schools. She is skilled and most interested in teaching developmental movement in a fun, playful manner so children will find joy in the process of learning that which is challenging for them.

 

Caroline has experience working with children with cerebral palsy, torticollis, Down Syndrome, muscular dystrophy, orthopedic involvement, developmental delay and exposure to substances in utero.

 

Caroline graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1989 and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 1981. In addition to being a Physical Therapist she has continued her education and training through several certification programs. She is Guild Certified in the Feldenkrais Method, certified in the Child’Space Chava Shelhav Method and in Neuro-Developmental Treatment and was trained in the Brazelton Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale. She also attended a number of courses in both Sensory Integration Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy.

 

Caroline has a love of the great outdoors-gardening, trail running, hiking, water sports. She is an avid sports fan and lover of nature and art. For her creative pursuits she makes books and boxes from hand made paper and created a pollinator garden at her home. She is married and has a son in college.
