Throughout her career, Sara has enjoyed working in diverse settings, including teaching in the classroom and serving as a Direct Support Professional through the ARC of the   Triangle. Her passion is advocacy for children and families, especially families experiencing stress of caring for children with differences. She believes that every child, without question, should have hope, strength, and laughter in his or her childhood.

One of Sara’s highest priorities is ensuring that caregivers are an integral part of all of her therapy sessions. She believes that children succeed the most when the people around them are active participants in all therapy objectives. She is an innovative thinker and loves working with families in creating activities that are engaging and fun.

A resident of Wake County, Sara is an avid believer in giving back to her local community and has served as a coach for the Special Olympics since 2007. In addition, she regularly volunteers at Duke Children’s Hospital, Impact Raleigh, Camp Joy, and Project Unify.
