Laura Price, M.Ed, ITFS

Laura Price has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development and Family Support, and she is certified as a NC Infant, Toddler & Family Specialist.

She is from Montevideo, Uruguay, where Spanish is her native language. She has over fifteen years of experience working with the special needs population; as a family trainer and developmental therapist. Laura has a strong background in speech and language delays, fine and gross motor skills, and behavior management. She promotes joint attention and encourages pretend play for children who have difficulties talking and playing with others and their families.

Laura is also certified as a Latino Parent and Family Advocacy and Support Trainer (LPFST) through NC Cooperative Extension. She helps caregivers understand how schools work in order to improve the transition from the ITP (Infant-Toddler Program) to the Preschool in the Exceptional Children’s Program. Laura has also taught nutrition classes for the Wake County WIC offices and presented Domestic Violence trainings for the Department of Social Work in NC State University.

She works well with parents and helps them find resources in the community to overcome financial crisis and other domestic issues.     In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and networking with community resources.
